    Description

From my aviation collection, I offer this original,1788 Pierre Blanchard balloon flight over Warsaw Poland. Of the early medals of balloon flights, Blanchard is the most difficult to locate' and Warsaw is his rarest. This one is in excellent condition. It has his balloon over Warsaw, a parachute below it with legend. Roughly translates to, UNDAUNTED HE DOES NOT FEAR AN ICARIAN FATE. Malpas #20. Kaiser lists several of his balloon flights, but not Warsaw. It is bronze at about 30.2mm and quite scarce. The obverse has Blanchard facing right with legend around. Maker Loos at bottom. See the scans. U.S. shipping is free. Paypal preferred.
I HAVE THE SILVER VERSION UP NOW. THIS BRONZE MADE IN 1788 IS NOT DATED WHILE THE SILVER IS DATED WITH ROMAN NUMERALS. BOTH ARE RARE, BUT THE SILVER IS A BIT MORE SO AND THUS PRICED A LITTLE HIGHER. BOTH WOULD MAKE A NICE SET.
I am always open to offers on any of my listings. Just ask. Worst thing is I say no.
