    Description

From my aviation collection I offer a gilt or gold plated bronze medal in almost uncirculated condition. This type medal is not offered often. Struck in 1868 by La Bouche it was sold to passengers making the captive flight in the massive balloon; most likely brought to London, by Frenchman Henri Giffard, as he had flown a similar passenger carrying one, at the Paris exhibition, a year earlier. It is a large medal at 51mm with the huge balloon taking up much of the obverse with the artist name LABOUCHE at the bottom. The reverse has legend depicting the dimensions of the balloon and passenger capacity (30). About as made and as nice as you most likely will ever have the chance to own. I one see one other, far inferior to mine for sale at 0. See the scans. U.S. shipping is free. Pay pal or your check preferred.
I AM ALWAYS OPEN TO OFFERS ON ANY OF MY LISTINGS. JUST ASK. WORST THING I CAN SAY IS NO
