Description
Offered are a pair of horse head spurs. The spurs have the five point star mark and HERCULES BRONZE, which relate to August Buermann. They also are stamped with the anchor, " NORTH & JUDD. The North and Judd company bought out the August Buermann Co. in 1914. So the markings on these spurs show that the spurs came from the Buermann Co. and were then marked with the anchor brand later. That being said this would date the spurs to 1914 and a little befoer! The spurs are No. 1391 1/2 as listed in Buermanns Bit and Spur book page 24. The spurs are made out of Hercules Bronze and the horse heads are made out of Nickel Silver. The spurs could use a polishing!? That being up to the new owner. The chains are original to the spurs. Over all length of the spurs are 6 1/2". The heel is 2 7/8" wide and 3 1/2" deep, rowels are 1 3/4". A hard to find set of spurs with these markings.
